Are you in school or planning to go to school?

Most colleges provide programs for students with disabilities that offer services to enable students to function independently in an educational environment.

The objective of these programs is to integrate students with disabilities into mainstream campus programs and activities.

Find the name of the program. For example, if you’re attending the College of Alameda, you’d contact the Department of Programs and Services for Students with Disabilities.  The College of Alameda has a website so you are able to search for that department online.

The following websites provide useful information and support:

  1. The We Connect Now website is dedicated to uniting people interested in rights and issues affecting people with disabilities, with particular emphasis on college students and access to higher education and employment issues.

  2. The Going to College website contains information about planning to go to college with a disability. The site was designed for high school students and information is also provided for parents and school professionals.

If you have additional needs, return to "I have been diagnosed with a brain injury," or "I am helping someone whose life has been affected by brain injury" OR select the "go back one page" feature.
