How do I suggest an event for the BIC Community Calendar?

Please suggest any event you believe would be of interest to those affected by brain injury; those who work with the brain injury community; and those who advocate for the disability community and prevention.

BIC is testing whether people really need to be registered to add events to the BIC Calendar.   You don't have to register at this time.  If we receive too much spam, we will have to require people to register again to add events.  Events still have to be approved.  If you do not see your event up on the site within 24 hours, contact the BIC Team.

To suggest an event:

  1. Go to "Calendar" menu on the home page under "Connecting 2 Community" or click on the EVENTS menu in the Main Menu.
  2. Click on "Suggest an Event"  on the top right of the calendar. The next 3 icons to the right are:  Download, Subscribe and Print.

NOTE:  DO NOT send information about for-profit events unless it would benefit the brain injury community, i.e., open house to introduce a new provider.   No class reunions, political functions, rallies, or demonstrations unless it is brain injury related, i.e., trip to state capitol to endorse the need for specific regulation for the brain injury and disability community.

If your event is on another website, please add the following:

  • Title: Add the Name of the Event.
  • Category: If there is not an adequate category, select "other" and notify the BIC Team with your suggestion for a category.
  • Determine if you want to "Mark as private": If you add something and mark it private only you will see the Event and a volunteer on the BIC Team will see it because it will have to be approved.
  • Location: Add the entire address, including the zip code.
  • Event Type: Select "Meeting" because the times should be on your website
  • Add the Event Date Start
  • Add the Event Date End
  • Description: Optional short description of event and contact information, if you already have that info at your event's website/webpage.

When completed "Save" the event and it will be submitted for approval. A BIC volunteer will approve it as soon as possible.

If you do not have your event on a website, please provide the following information in the pop up form.

  • Title: Add the Name of the Event.
  • Category: If there is not an adequate category, select "other" and notify the BIC Team with your suggestion for a category.
  • Mark as private: If you add something and mark it private only you will see the Event and a volunteer on the BIC Team will see it because it will have to be approved.
  • Location: Add the entire address, including the zip code.
  • Event Type: Select "All Day Event" or "Meeting"
  • Event Date Start: Use the calendar to add the start date
  • Event Date End: Use the calendar to add the end date
  • Event Time Start: Add the time the Event starts.
  • Event Time End: Add the time the Event ends.
  • Description: Short description of event and contact information

When completed "Save" the event and it will be submitted for approval. A BIC volunteer will approve it as soon as possible.

NOTE: It is imperative you submit your event at your earliest opportunity because the BIC does not have any part or full-time staff.
